More refinement

Almost ready to wrap the design phase of this project up and start production. The bench design is gonna change a little and I'm gonna tweak the top of the valet a bit too. I hate that top notch thing on the second level. My professor suggested it and I don't think it works, so it's history. Suggestions welcomed.

3D Modeling

I'm learning some new software at school. Here are some progress shots of the valet stand I'm designing for my Design Process class. It's my first foray into the world of Solidworks and Hypershot.

Flatpack furniture

Here's some work I'm doing for my Design Process class. We are doing flatpack furniture. Both the valet stand and bench can be cut from one 4x8 sheet of material. Here I ended up stacking layers so I could laser cut but still indicate correct material thickness (hence the clamps).
First full scale model.
One of the half scale mock ups.
Two mock ups (half scale) with different variations.
Mock up of bench. (You can sit on this while you put on your shoes...)
Shot of the change in layers in the valet stand. One of my design inspirations was topographical maps. Can you tell?
One more shot of the mock ups.

I'm not done with this design, but will post pics of progress at it continues to evolve.

Photoshop painting 2

In the words of my friend TY (you know what the initials mean if it matters or you've been around ACAN):

"Projects are never finished, only abandoned."

This is what I'm turning in. Not perfect, but I'm out of time and done noodling it.
